New Delhi: Tech giant OpenAI has launched a major new feature for its popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT. Starting on Monday, October 6, 2025, users can now interact with popular services like Spotify and Canva directly inside their chat window.
This new development turns ChatGPT from a simple chatbot into a powerful central hub for different tasks. It was announced at OpenAI’s annual developer conference, DevDay 2025.
What are these new ‘Apps in ChatGPT’?
OpenAI is calling these new connections “integrations.” They essentially work like “mini apps” that live right inside your conversation with the AI. You no longer need to switch between different apps for many tasks.

The initial launch includes several big names. These partners are Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Expedia, Figma, Spotify, and Zillow. Many more apps like Uber, DoorDash, and Instacart will be added later this year.
How does the Spotify App work?
The Spotify integration is a major highlight. Now, you can use natural language prompts to handle music requests. For example, you can type, “Spotify, make me a playlist for a long road trip.” ChatGPT will then use the Spotify app to create a curated list of songs for you.
To start, the first time you mention Spotify, the system will ask you to connect your Spotify account. This step is necessary to link the two services.
The feature works differently for free and premium users. Spotify Premium users can ask the AI to create completely new, personalized playlists based on detailed requests. Free users can still access Spotify’s existing public playlists like “Discover Weekly” or “New Music Friday” through the chat.
After getting the music suggestion, you just tap on the result. It will take you straight to the Spotify app to start listening.
Other Major App Integrations
Besides music, the new apps let users do many other things directly in the chat:
- Canva: You can ask Canva to “design a poster for my event” or turn your text outline into a presentation. The app will generate a design preview for you to edit.
- Expedia and Booking.com: Planning a trip becomes easier. You can ask for hotel options or flight details, and the travel app will give you results inside the conversation.
- Zillow: If you are house-hunting, you can ask for listings with specific requirements. The Zillow app will show property options, sometimes with interactive maps.
- Coursera: The integration can recommend online courses and study materials based on your conversation.
A Seamless, Conversational Experience
The main idea behind this change is to make the experience very smooth. The apps fit naturally into the conversation flow. You can either call the app by name in your prompt, or ChatGPT will intelligently suggest the right app based on what you are discussing.
The goal is to make the AI feel like a central operating system where all your services are ready to work together.
This feature is now available to all logged-in ChatGPT users outside the European Union. This includes users on Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans. This big move shows that OpenAI is pushing ChatGPT beyond a simple AI tool to become a major platform for digital services.
